Tolan Welcomes Progress on Laytown Public Toilets

Local Fine Gael Councillor, Sharon Tolan has today welcomed the appointment of Oliver Gaynor Building, Electrical and Heating Services to refurbish and reinstate the public toilets at the entrance to Laytown beach.

“I have worked hard over the past few years to secure the funding for a number of beach related capital works needed in the Laytown, Bettystown and Mornington area. Most notably securing €2 million in the Meath County Council Capital Plan for the Beach Management Plan. I am delighted that the Council have now awarded the contract to refurbish and reinstate the old toilet block in Laytown, that has remained boarded up for a long number of years. These public toilet facilities will not only benefit beach goers, but also users of the nearby Laytown Playground and the wider public, and take the pressure off local businesses that deserve to be allowed reserve their own facilities for patrons.” said Tolan.

Works are due to commence in the week beginner the 15th April, and will be open for the public in the coming months.
